What is MAAD?
MAAD - Market of Artist And Designer

MAAD is not your usual Flea market, where u see everything anything on sale! But it is a platform for individual or group exhibition work, workshop, art classes and
also performance space for your band, plays, fashion-show, live painting, make-up, hair
styling or whatever their creativity takes them, and mostly there are also stalls tat they sell hadnicrafted, handmade, designed their own stuff too.

MAAD provides a platform to test the commercial viability of the creative works and to promote creative entrepreneurship. Products are judged through a panel of Professional Curators before they are allowed to be in this market. So only the best are choosen!

MAAD do not sell second hand stuff, they do not allow you to buy (commercial things) and resell it like what the usual vendors does in other flea markets, where they get cheaper stuff in Bangkok and resell them to you.

At MAAD, you probably get to meet the "designers" and "talents" of the thing you are buying, seeing (works of talents live). So do come to a market of a different kind, hang out with a different crowd, Get Unique Buys! Support the local talents! And most importantly, the reason i am writing this post is It will be my First Appearance there *dance and do a cheerleader backward roll for myself*

DIY Charms!

There was a pretty earring of japanese gold fish with a blue background that i saw from a retail shop (This retail shop is a place where I had spend hundreds of dollars because i so love their accessories since a few years ago even till now, as i make my own, i still buy a piece or two from them as not all parts are available to make my own, or sometimes, you love it so much, you rather just get it and get over with the shopping craving.) got me inspired and I decided to make my own printed charms, but sadly i can't find that goldfish prints, so i might go back to buy again...

Above, presenting the first few charms i created! Prints are choosen and obtained from magazines, wrapping papers, stickers etc. Soon you will see earrings, necklaces and bracelets in these charms. Most prints are gonna be 1 time off design, meaning, you will owe something unique! and the possibilities is unimaginable :)

The good thing about able to make these charms now is that it would be really easy to make something to match any combination of colours you are wearing or to compliment other designs and colours of my accessories i made or you wear. Could even make a personalised charm to add your baby's photo in it, etc. Bigger ones in "antique" frames are also available Hope i make them fast and hope all of you get excited as well ;) It has been fun making these... and i love the prints!

Cherry Quartz Pendent on Vintage Gold Hammered Round Plates with Fresh Water Pearls NK00016 /ST00001

This picture is taken in the early morning...

In warm lighting it is shiny and pleasing to the eye as well, the colours of the champagne fresh water pearls with this vintage (vintage is not the look but really these were produced then) hammered metal round plates, and a cherry quartz (Semi precious stone) held with a 18k gold plated clasp and 14k gold plated chains streaming down.

This wld contrast and compliments that little black dress you have! Matching earrings to be produced soon :)

Leopard Jasper with Gold Chains NK00015

These are known as Leopard Jasper, they appear as an opaque rock of shades of red or brown due to mineral impurities. It's how the rock forms that yields the bands or swirls in the rock, making every piece of the stone different, there is no 2 jasper stone that looks exactly the same.

This design uses alot chain at the other end (chains can be untied and retie to adjust the length slightly) connected with 2 round pink jade, and becos of it's colour, it is easy to match this piece of jewellery easily with most colours. You can wear it showing more of the jasper stone as a shorter necklace or turn it over, and wear it to show some of the jasper stone, and the beautifully tied gold chains. Chinois Flower Choker NK00014 / BR00014

This neclace is created with lots of chains (total needed metre of gold chains to create this look was approx at least 3-4 metres of chains), and a flower beaded with yellow Jade and a Tensha bead (reminiscent of an english rose garden on these Japanese acrylic beads). Especially complementing to fairer skin ladies.
